Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

So, how late to the Urban Decay party am I? Yep, this is my first Urban Decay palette. Do I get bonus blogger points now? I’ve often looked at the Naked palettes but I’ve never quite got to buying one. People are constantly raving about the quality of these eyeshadows, so when I saw the Naked Ultimate Basics palette I just knew this was the one to get.

So the packaging is every Instagrammer and bloggers dream. I can’t get enough of it! A gorgeous rose gold palette which has a textured sunburst complete with the branding embossed over the top. It’s nice and sturdy and whilst it doesn’t click shut, it doesn’t fall open easily at all. Inside the palette you’ll find two rows of shadows, a large mirror and a double ended brush.

Top Row – Blow, Nudie, Commando, Tempted, Instinct, Lethal

Bottom Row – Pre-Game, Extra Bitter, Faith, Lockout, Magnet, Blackjack

The thing that appealed to me most about this palette is the fact that all the shades are matte (bar one demi-matte) and a diverse range of nude shades. This means it’s a fantastic everyday palette. One thing I find with everyday shadows is that I have to move between a few palettes to get all the shades I need. With this palette there’s a huge range of both cool and warm toned shades that cover the spectrum of light to dark. Most days I’ve been using Commando, Tempted and Instinct to create a light, cool toned smoky eye, which is my absolute go to look!

Every single shade is fantastically pigmented, even the lighter ones. Plus all the shadows are super buttery, and whilst there’s a wee bit of fallout they blend like a dream! I can totally see what everyone’s been raving out for years.

I never usually like brushes that come with palettes but I really love the larger end of the brush provided. It’s nice a fluffy and perfect for blending out the crease. I do like the smaller end for the lower lash line but it is a little dense for my liking!

The Verdict?

All in all, I’m so glad I picked up the Ultimate Basics Palette. Whether I’ve used it on it’s own or mixed in with shimmers from other palettes like the Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette, I’ve been using it pretty much every time I’ve worn eyeshadow for the last six weeks – I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon! Now, what palette do I need next?!

Did you get your hands on the Ultimate Basics Palette?

xx
