Make Up Revolution Atomic Lipstick in Serpent

Today’s post is my nod to Halloween this year – I’m all for bold lips but I’m not sure if green is my colour for everyday! Make Up Revolution are highly commended for their lipsticks as we all know by now, and Serpent from the Atomic Lipsticks range is an obvious budget answer to Lime Crime’s Serpentina.

The Atomic range was released in time for Halloween last year, though I picked up this lipstick in around February just out of curiosity. That’s the great thing about Make Up Revolution – with lipsticks priced at only £1 you have nothing to lose in trying them out!

So to the lipstick itself. It’s pretty pigmented as far as a crazy colour goes. It does take a few layers to build it up so it isn’t one you can quickly slick on without a mirror. And as you can see from the above image it would probably benefit from a matching lipliner to really define the outer edge of the lips.

It sadly isn’t as long lasting as other colours I’ve tried from the MUR £1 lipsticks so I would say that if this is a colour you were wanting to wear on an everyday basis I’d price up and get a better quality green lipstick. But if you are looking for a fun colour to wear every now and then or for fancy dress definitely pick this up!

The packaging is the standard MUR black casing with the colour displayed on the end. As with all of these lipsticks the gold labelling has pretty much rubbed off by now, but this kind of thing has never really bothered me when it comes to budget products!

The shade Make It Right from the same range as Serpent is a fabulous dark shimmery purple which I absolutely love. Again it’s nowhere near the longest wearing lipstick I own but we all know my affinity for purple lipsticks!

Having worked in bars it’s been required of me to dress up for the last few years, but this year I’ll happily be having a night in with a few films. I don’t really get Halloween, and this year I don’t have to mess around sorting out a fancy dress for something I just don’t celebrate/enjoy. But today’s post is my little nod to the celebrations as I know so many people absolutely love Halloween.  I’m hoping to be in Leeds with my buddies on Halloween, and my plan is just to enjoy a Saturday night without any pressure of a fancy dress! But having said all this, if you are planning on partying the night away with the undead then make sure you have the most amazing time!

You can buy Serpent or any of the Atomic Lipsticks on the Make Up Revolution website.
