Thursday afternoon brought the extremely rare occasion of a day of coinciding with absolutely lush weather. I should really have spent the day packing up my house for moving home, but instead I headed out for lunch and a few drinks with my friend at Kirkstall Bridge Inn in Leeds. I didn’t intent on blogging this in all honesty, but I had such a lovely day and was so impressed with the food we had that I wanted to share this little Yorkshire gem with you all!
We took our time perusing the menu struggling to decide what to go for. I found myself torn between the Deli Platter, the Truffle Mushroom, Caramelised Onions and Goats Cheese Pizza and the Sesame Tuna Salad. A split second decision at the bar led to the healthy and scrumptious salad you can see above, and I was so impressed at the size of the tuna steak – I was expecting something half the size! Definitely got my money’s worth! My friend opted for the Ploughman’s Platter which you can see in the background, and there was a lot of happy sounds emanating from her and she tucked into her choice of cheese!
The range of beers (and other drinks) available at the bar was very impressive and really catered to all tastes – from fruity Kirkstall Framboise to dark stouts on the hand pull we were spoiled for choice – and with staying for several drinks we were able to sample what we wanted to!
Kirkstall Bridge Inn has a beautiful country pub interior on two levels, both with it’s own bar. The lower floor was lovely and cool to retreat to in the blazing sunshine thanks to it’s stone walls. I can’t wait to go back in the winter when I’m sure the interior is super cosy! One of the main highlights of the venue for me is the riverside beer garden.
Thanks to the wonderful staff at Kirkstall Bridge Inn, what a beautiful little spot of paradise to spend my day off in!
