You know those weeks where you end up buying lots of little bits, and then when you put it all together you realise actually you’ve bought a hell of a lot? Yeah, this was one of those weeks! A week full of ‘I’ll just pop to Boots for that one thing’, and ‘I’ll just go in to have a look’ and some generally just feeling spendy days.
CLOTHES AND ACCESSORIES
I picked up this blouse
in the Mango sale, and I can’t believe I actually bought something that isn’t monochrome! This blouse is totally different to anything I own. It’s floaty, bright and has sleeves, but because it’s such a light fabric it’s lovely and cool (when the sun actually decides to come out and play for five minutes anyway!)
I totally fell in love with the necklace in the above picture and whilst I don’t usually buy Topshop jewellery, but sometimes exceptions have to be made! Sadly it’s not available online anymore but there are lots of similar necklaces on their website
When the sun does eventually come out to play I’m wearing my new pink shell effect sunglasses. Another ‘saw them on the side’ moment in Primark when I was buying new socks. I have a serious weakness for sunglasses, and at £3 they were never not coming home with me.
BEAUTY AND SKINCARE
I needed a new nail polish remover, basic but necessary, so I grabbed the Essence Quick & Easy Sponge Nail Polish remover
. It’s nothing special but it gets the job done easily so that’s all I need! I will say that for a nail polish remover this stuff smells nice – quite fruity!
I stopped by Boots to buy my lunch one day, and ended up leaving with a NYX Liquid Suede
in Soft Spoken and a Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation
. I mentioned in my last post that one of my 2016 aims has been to battle my dry skin and moisturize more. Moving into summer and with a wedding fast approaching I wanted to get a gradual tan moisturizer, and having been a fan of Palmer’s skincare I decided to pick up their Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze
to try it out.
I placed a sneaky order with Beauty Bay
for two of the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipsticks
. I’ve been weighing up whether to get them for a while, but I finally took the plunge and picked up Ecstasy and Everything Nice. So far I’m absolutely loving them, but keep your eyes out for a full review soon.
Like every other person on the planet I picked up Elle magazine, which contained a generous sized sample of Benefit’s new Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil
. Whilst the colour is probably a shade lighter than I’d like I am still able to make it work. I’m a huge fan of this pencil, so I might have to pick up the full size next time I go to get my brows done!
I do love that word, don’t you? There are a couple of bits and bobs I’ve picked up as well. One being Blogosphere Magazine
. I’ve been trying to track a copy down for what feels like years, but with no success. I decided to bite the bullet and get a subscription, and I have to say I’m loving the whole magazine. Top marks!
And lastly, you might remember I mentioned a trip to the zoo in my recent obsession post. I have a huge love for animals in general but otters are probably my number one favourite. I’d wanted a new keyring for ages and on the way out of the zoo I spotted my little otter friend in the gift shop and he had to come home with me. Funnily enough, he has made my life easier – because he’s so big it’s much easier to find my keys in my bag now!
So that’s my collective haul with a little bit of everything – what have you been buying recently?
